Q will the strokes heal crisp & fine?

Healing depends all on skin type. some individuals heal with a very crisp look to their tattoo, while others tend to heal with a more powdered look or the strokes “blur out” sooner. typically clients with skin on the dry side tend to heal faster, more crisp, & retain pigment for longer. Unfortunately oily skin can struggle to hold pigment as sharp or as long, but it is still possible to achieve a nice look, it just may take more than the initial appointment & 4-6 week touch up.

Q does microblading hurt?

it is not a pain free service. I offer a lidocaine topical anesthetic that helps with the discomfort. though it does not fully numb you, it does help “take the edge off”. There is a second numbing gel that is used after the first pass on your brows that only works on broken skin… but it works well! some clients skip the first topical & others want both. It’s entirely up to you.

Q how long is the microblading procedure?

I schedule out 2 hours for your first visit, though the microblading process only takes half of that or less. The time allotted is for the topical anesthetic to sit for 20 minutes, for us to discuss in detail the shape & desired look you’re going for, as well as choose a pigment that goes best with your skin tone.

Q how often are touch ups recommended?

after your initial appointment there is a recommended touch up included 4-6 weeks after your first visit. most people want this appointment as it is usually a two step process to build the desired shape, depth & retain all of the pigment. after your first visit with me I recommend coming back every 6-12 months, though your skin type as well as skincare routine can impact how you heal & how long you hold pigment. it varies greatly from person to person.

Q how long does it take for microblading to heal?

it takes 7-14 days for the tattoo to heal, & about 4 weeks for the color & shape to fully take. In that time the tattoo goes through several phases. peeling & flakiing are perfectly normal, the strokes will shrink by half, as well as lighten before the process is complete. typically clients with dry skin tend to heal faster & retain pigment the best.

Q when can I return to my daily routine?

There are limitations (avoiding intense exercise that causes a lot of sweating, no swimming or water on your brows, no sun exposure etc) for a brief time while your brows are healing, the first week being most important. I’ll send you home with aftercare that explains in detail how to achieve the best results.

Q medications I should avoid?

any blood thinning medications… this includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, Ibuprofen, B6, Omega 3, etc.

Acutane

most pigments contain metallic salts & needles contain a small amount of nickel. It is very rare to have a reaction to the procedure, however if you are aware of any allergies, this service may not be right for you.

botox or other injections less than 3 weeks before your appointment.
